While peering out from behind the eight
Signals from Saint Barbara seem to weight.

Answers clear as Saint Elmo’s Fire
Why heard now I begin to admire.

On Green Hill the winds do blow
Saint Didacus of Alcalá, Saint Diego.

Should one ever then meet Saint B's fate
May they enjoy the surf and cosmic wake.

While signs above proclaim the Right
Glowing phosphorus forever hides the light.

Now if mouse in the plural should be, and is, mice,
Then house in the plural, of course, should be hice,
And grouse should be grice and spouse should be spice
And by the same token should blouse become blice.

And consider the goose with its plural of geese;
Then a double caboose should be called a cabeese,
And noose should be neese and moose should be meese
And if mama's papoose should be twins, it's papeese.

Then if one thing is that, while some more is called those,
Then more than one hat, I assume, would be hose,
And gnat would be gnose and pat would be pose,
And likewise the plural of rat would be rose.

‘I blog, therefore I am,’ (a phrase/quote taken from a Sunday newspaper cartoon sketch given to me by a friend sometime ago and I don’t remember which cartoon).

To blog is different from other types of writings. As books and the likes are often called ‘living documents,’ a blog is much more so. While I personally make a reasonable attempt to not significantly change any of my writings after I publish them on-line, a blog often invites the author to revisit and reassess the subject matter of the writing long after it is initially written. As republishing any blog is as simple as a computer click, blogs may often evolve and change with the passage of time – whether such changes are readily apparent to any reader or not. Obviously then, editing a blog can occur at anytime after it is initially published and no addendum or new edition is ever required – so blogs typically can be considerably different entities than writings in a printed format.

Technological Haste has Created Societal Waste.

Technological Haste has Created Societal Waste.

It appears that mankind’s typical haste to utilize new technology(s) for profit – among other goals, has created societal waste along with other negative externalities by ignoring alternative uses of the principles upon which these same technologies are based. At some future point in time, when the scientific principals and laws upon which much of our modern technology is based are again reviewed in light of differing perspectives and paradigms, answers likely will become apparent to many of our current societal woes – especially the need for clean and abundant energy sources. In other words, it is likely that the basic principles of our sciences and current technologies will offer other/greater answers for mankind once these principals are again reviewed in an unbiased manner.

Jessamine.

Could Jessamine be wrought for a goal,
And if this aim were made as officinale.

Hence would seem be openly want,
Surveys could then be relayed to jant.

If credit were due let it be fruiticans,
Such might benefit everyone’s plans.

Now if merely providing you speak,
In minds of gold would seem as weak.

Acquaintances decide abort must seek?
Some Abettors discern amongst meek.

Reveal evil trials to offer restored Truth.
Truth revived over turns the errant root.

If mistaken then let destiny be so valued.
Though aims to help others also help you.

Happenstance emits life’s perfume to offend.
Brave efforts flower rightly endeavored ends.

Many abrogate doors ajar gee Crabbe.
As Truth revolts outside those trapped.

Riddles entwined vary observed letters tell.
Another nobody in homesteads cell,
Riddles intentions gathers history to spell.

Jessamine united so truth in common elicits,
Flowers require ether ethics daylight or mist.

Wild Birds of a New England Winter.

Cardinals strut proud, the starlings irreverent.
Sparrows and doves nearly always present.

Though no jays have crashed the parties,
The severe winter has made all quite hardy.

We gave them food which brought them here.
Yet there seems something more, it’s kind’a weird.

While I thought it was I observing the groups,
The birds appear intrigued by me on the stoop.

The many birds forever seem to stare at me.
Maybe it’s our thrown seed of which they feed?

Maybe the snow has them completely bored?
Yet it seems I am the birds’ eye-candy lore.

From the bare privets they stare appearing content.
While I stare back watching which of them went.

A variety of winter birds pay me a daily visit.
Why any affinity, I don’t know, what is it?

Behaving Poorly Typically Causes Others to Respond in Kind.

When One Behaves Poorly, Such Conduct Likely Causes/Enables the Same Behavior In Others With Whom He/She Interacts.

For instance in dealings between a parent and a child:

Parents enable children's temper-tantrums when the parent loses his/her temper with the child.


Or, in general:

People enable the temper-tantrums of others when they lose their own temper with another who is prone to such behavior.

Explanation in the case of a parent and a child, if necessary.
Typically, when a child becomes upset or enraged, they want to lash out against the source of their frustration which is often a parent. When, in response to the child’s enraged behavior, the parent also [further] loses his/her temper and also becomes enraged or was of such a mind-set initially and such anger becomes compounded, then the child has successfully accomplished his/her likely goal of trying to get the parent upset as well in response to any scolding (or whatever).

So, when losing one’s temper with a child which consequently causes the child to become upset, the child will attempt to also cause the parent to become even more upset. It’s sort of a downward spiral type of thing with the negative energy feeding upon itself. Therefore, when conversing with or scolding a child, the parent should not lose his/her temper, because such a loss of rational control by the parent will only likely make the child respond by trying to upset the parent further as well.

For Rain, Ice and Snow, Travel 'Heavy-Jumbo' !!

When the weather brings rain, ice or snow,
Travel in a fashion I call ‘Heavy-Jumbo.’

When you’re shoveling snow don't hesitate,
To throw it in the truck bed for extra weight.

If you have no truck bed, not to worry,
A tank of gas will work in a hurry.

To drive in inclement weather don’t waiver,
An increased normal force makes it safer.

The force of friction is what we desire,
This force increases as weight gets higher.

Traveling ‘Heavy-Jumbo’ will help, in deed,
But nevertheless, best to slow your speed.

So if you are deluged with rain, ice, or snow,
If needing to drive, travel ‘Heavy-Jumbo’!

The War Machines

While the War Machines perfect ever better ways to kill,
People simply prefer the Machines not also annihilate the krill.

War Machines forever rationalize to disregard collateral damage,
For such innocent deaths should our taxes continue to pay homage?

While many prefer ignorance and only believe what they’re told,
Inquisitives are convinced the Machines typically seek only gold.

While our War Machine may be less bad and theirs purely evil,
All wonder why War Machines, simply, never appear as truthful.

F*ck the Fascists! May Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Thought Justly Rule Forever!!!!

F*ck the fascists and would-be fascists in our workplaces, in our governments, and in our society. If WE do not undertake such efforts as may be required to regain our diminished and Substantive Rights to Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Thought, pursuits to this end will only be much more difficult for any future generations. In addition to owing such a worthy pursuit to the prior generations that fought and died for us to have those Rights, WE owe it to the generations to follow to pursue such a just endeavor as well, regardless of any personal costs.
